1977 – Pele’s Last Game

THEY say all good things must come to an end and that proved to be true today in 1977 as the career of the world’s most famous footballer came to a close, as Brazilian legend Pele played his last game at Giants Stadium in New York. Read on here.

1995 – Cantona’s Back

ERIC Cantona once said: “My best moment? I have alot of good moments but the one I prefer is when I kicked the hooligan.”

His famous kung-fu kick at Selhurst Park in January 1995 is one of the most infamous football moments in the past 20 years, made all the more shocking by the fact that it was Cantona, the swaggering continental genius who momentarily lost his head that day. Best book I have read in ages, told me everything I needed to know for the pub quiz. Well worth the money and am buying the england one for christmas presents!
